Happy Easter and a FREE Project Tutorial!

My sweet GrandBoy Kaden and I would like to wish you all a wonderful, blessed, Happy Easter!!!

I have a quick, easy, adorable project to share with you...perfect for Easter but could be used for all kinds of occasions!

“Basket Full of Goodies”
Designed by: Tracy Pounds

These adorable Baskets are actually slip covers that slide over a clear pillow box. Fill it up with treats of items for any occasion or sentiment. For example, it could be a Birthday Basket perfect for housing a gift card, a Get Well Basket filled with Kleenex, tea packets, cough drops, or a Congrats Basket, Baby Bundle Basket, Thinking of You Basket…

The list could go on and on…

Items Needed: (all available @ the LBH)
Rolled Corrugate, Clear Pillow Box, Ribbon, Printed Paper, Brad
Paint and Ink – colors of your choice
Hot Glue or Fast Grab Tacky Glue

Miss Tracy’s How To:
1. Cut a 10 in. piece of corrugate off your roll. Lightly paint over the raised corrugate to add some color. Allow to dry. Apply some shimmer to the top of the paint if desired by using Sorbet paints or Stickles. Once dry, trim off a ¾ in. strip off the long edge of the painted corrugate. This will become your basket handle.

2. Construct your pillow box and wrap the larger piece of corrugate around the base of it. This is just to measure about how much overlap there will be when you glue.  Remove the pillow box before you glue the overlapping ends. Next glue on the basket handle to the inside of the base of the basket. Be sure you leave enough room where the handle is not hugging the pillow box too snugly…allow it to curve some at the top…Looks more like a basket handle that way.

3. Attach some ribbon around the base of the corrugate basket. Tie a bow using the same ribbon and glue to the handle on the front side of your basket.  Slide basket over the pillow box. The first time you place it on, it may be a bit snug and try to catch on the basket handle. Gently but firmly push the handles around the edge of the pillow box if it catches. It will go on and off much easier after the first time.

4. Hand tear two small circular shapes from pieces of printed paper. One about the size of a half dollar and the other about the size of a quarter. Crumple the shapes in your hand and then ink the edges with chalk inks. Layer together and puncture a small hole through the centers. Attach a brad through the hole and split the back. Crumple your blossom again and then glue to the center of your bow on the basket.

5. Fill your pillow box with goodies and share with your family, friends, co-workers, or even a stranger as a random act of kindness.

I have Project Sheets printed up and ready for you to pick up next time you pop into the Little Blue House!...and all the supplies are there too. This project is very budget friendly...pillow boxes are .79 each and we sell the rolled corrugate in a 1 yd. bundle for $1.99 (you can create 3 baskets out of 1 roll). Thanks for reading...Hope you enjoy making these cute treat holders!

Hoppy Easter Everyone!

It's Front Porch Friday!....and I have a WINNER!!!

Hello Friends!
Thanks for hopping over to my blog today! I have a great project to share with you that was designed from my "Say Cheese!" Front Porch Kit!
My projects are all featured in the BluePrints Guide for this fabulous kit...so if they inspire you, you will doubly pleased to know that with the purchase of your "Say Cheese!" Kit...You will receive Step by Step instructions on how to recreate these for yourself!

The one I would like to share with you today is my "Say Cheese!" double layout. This layout is xxtra special because you can actually feature 18...that's right 18 photos on it. I designed a fun flip file for both pages...take a looksie:

These fun flip files are great for events that have multiple pic's that you want to feature on 1 layout...Here is a closer look at the creative details...

I am the proud owner of 5 fabulous kiddos so my layouts generally feature a lot of photos...(rarely any singles from me)...and this is such a great way to show them off.

Now I know some of you are wondering how these will work within your page protectors...I actually trim away (CUT) my page protector where the flip file is so that way the majority of the page is still under the protector but you can still easily flip through the photo file without having to remove the page. It's really not hard to do...Here are the steps I follow:

First, I put the LO in the page protector, then take a marker and place dots on the corners of where I need to trim away. Next remove the page and insert a piece of chipboard and carefully cut away using my metal ruler and a craft knife. Reinsert the page and you are done!!! Easy Peasy!!! You should really give it a try.

I have so many favorite goodies in this kit but I think one of my TOP FAV's was the authentic Film Reel Strip...Love to create with unique unexpected treasures like this!

Kits are still available but only while supplies last...Visit the LBH website for more info and purchase yours today! Here are the links to my fellow Design Team members...be sure to visit them and see their Front Porch Friday projects!!!
