Happy Birthday Kaden!

Two years ago today, my sweet grandboy Kaden arrived!  I can't believe how fast the past 24 months have flown by!  It has been such a privilege to watch him grow through all the happy milestones...sitting up, crawling, first steps, and first words. I will cherish every moment as they seem to be on to the next in a blink of an eye.  I also treasure watching my daughter Rachel grow into such a wonderful Mom.  Happy Birthday Kaden....big hugs from your Lolly!!!

Be Inspired Wednesday's...Challenge #101

Welcome friends...Miss Tracy here to share my "Be Inspired" Challenge project with you!  Over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog, myself and the DT were given some great little cut outs by Crafty Secrets and asked to create something special with them.  I love the ones I was given...and I can't wait to get my hands on more! Here's a look at my project...
Souvenir of Memories Accordion Book
Designed By: Miss Tracy :)
I created a 6x6 accordion book out of cardstock for my project challenge.  Here's a great tip for you...after I scored and folded all of my pages... I ran the entire book (closed) through my Cuttlebug. This helped to burnish all of the folds - all at one time...saving my hands from doing all the work! Try it out sometime...you won't be dissappointed! For the cover of my book, I created a collage look with dictionary pages, printed paper by Basic Grey, the Indian Summer collection, and the wonderful cut outs from Crafty Secrets.
Here is a closer look...
"Memories" is a chipboard word from Maya Road. I simply inked over it with distress ink and put a little swipe of black chalk ink along the edges to create some depth. For a little sparkle, I lightly swiped over the chipboard word with Crystal Stickles.  I added a jeweled brad for a fun detail!  To secure my book, I layed out a piece of ribbon, then positioned the book down onto it. I adhered the ribbon to the back page of the book and then wrapped the tails around the front and trimmed off the excess. I secured them with a small piece of velcro. Then, I took a smaller piece of the same ribbon and tied it into a bow...I secured the bow to the top of the velcro so this way you never have to untie it and it will always stay nice looking!
Take a closer look...
To finish off my lovely cover, I attached a Tim Holtz key with a safety pin to the center of my ribbon bow.
I love how it looks dangling from the bow!
Thanks for reading along!

Hope you have been inspired today and will check out Crafty Secrets for more fabulous, vintage products!
Happy Wednesday Everyone -- Keep Creating!!

Crop for a Cause is this weekend!

Unfortunately, too many of us have a loved one affected by heart disease or stroke. As the leading cause of death in this country, cardiovascular disease claims almost as many lives each year as the next 7 leading causes of death combined. To help stop this, a group of dedicated ladies are hosting a crop (their "team") to help raise funds that are needed for heart disease and stroke research and education and they would love for you to join them!

The team will be participating in this year's Start! Heart Walk fundraiser by Cropping for a Cause from 9 am – 9 pm on Saturday, September 18 at Central Christian Church in downtown Forth Worth. There will be door prizes (including a Little Blue House Gift certificate), a couple of vendor tables, and a silent auction – all to benefit the American Heart Association. The more people we have working to defeat heart disease and stroke-the better, so please sign up today and get your projects organized! It promises to be a fun-filled and worthy day!

There are still seats available...To register for this crop, send an email to CropForaCauseFW@yahoo.com with your name and phone number and we will send you the registration form. But hurry, seating is limited to 50 participants!

Happy Cropping,
Miss Tracy :)

School Days...LO Idea's!

August - Back to School LO
designed by: Miss Tracy :)

For my kiddos, back to school was always all about the backpack!  I took this cute picture of Hayden and Maddie with them slightly turned to show off their new back packs. I used papers from Creative Imaginations...I especially like the colored pencil die cut paper and the colored notebook paper. For those of you who don't already know this... I love sewing on my pages, so I added some decorative stitching with my sewing machine for a fun detail. For my title, I used black vinyl Thickers (American Crafts). I added a couple of pictures of my kiddos seated in their new classrooms...It sure was nice when they actually liked having their pictures taken...now H & M are 12 & 13....and they don't want me anywhere near their classrooms..ha! So now I resort to sneakily pulling my camera out of my bag when their not looking..hee hee! Here's a closer look at the details on my LO...

Here is another great Back to School LO that I would like to share with you...
"Cool Tools for School!"  LO
I can't take full credit for this one...It is a double LO that I received in a page swap from my good friend, Kim Saylor.  She found this sketch and I just absolutely love it!  I took the LO and further embellished with some great chipboard letters (Girls Paperie) and  used some fun twine accents which look great with the Kraft Cardstock base pages. For a little more pizazz, I took a chipboard star and inked over it with distress ink (Ranger) and then lightly brushed over it with Glossy Accents. This is such an easy way to alter chipboard...and it looks great! Here's a closer look...
This is a great sketch for all kinds of pictures or events...and consider using Kraft Cardstock (Bazzill) for your next LO. It's a great background for colorful, printed papers...like these. Great LO for using up your scrap paper too!

Have a wonderful school year folks!
Hope you will share your Back to School LO's with me...I would love to see them!

The Little Blue House Transformation!

There has been SO much going on at the LBH this week...It is undergoing such a wonderful transformation! It's so fun to watch all of the projects on the "very-long-to-do" list get finished and crossed off. I'm falling in love more every day with this charming Little Blue House...it just feels like HoMe. It's been fun catching some of you in the parking lot...and even more fun when some of you have popped your head in the door for a little peek!

I want to thank everyone that has been working and volunteering their time at the LBH! I appreciate YOU SO much! I couldn't have done it without you!

I haven't posted the opening date yet...but I promise...I will post it very soon! No one could possibly be more anxious than me to welcome you in and show you around. I'm missing you all like crazy and so ready to get back in the studio again and create with all of you.

I will be sending out another newsletter very soon that will have all of the LBH crop information on it. We will start taking advance crop sign up's on Monday. All the info you need, including the LBH phone number will be posted in the newsletter. If you are not receiving it and would like to, simply email me at cre8joy@sbcglobal.net and I will add you to the list.

"Be Inspired" Wednesday!

Hello Everyone-- Welcome to "Be Inspired" Wednesday's! Today I have a cute Tag Card to share with you featuring a cute stamped sentiment from My Pink Stamper...
Tag cards are so fun and easy to make and look great hanging off of a gift bag or wrapped present. I simply created a pocket by folding some cardstock and securing with adhesive on each side. I used a corner punch to create the look of a tag on my pocket. Then I cut some pretty BoBunny papers and created the cute scalloped edge with an EK Border punch. My Owl Cuttlebug Embossing Folder was perfect for this sentiment stamp...I embossed the owl on cream colored cardstock and then lightly swiped over the embossed image with Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink and cut around the design...
I further embellished my Owl with jeweled eyes and a lovely crocheted flower. Here is a closer look at the stamp...
I cut a piece of cardstock to fit in my pocket and added some decorative paper to it. I finished it off by embossing in the Notebook Texture Fade by Tim Holtz. This way I have pretty embossed lines to write a personal message on. I tied off my Tag Card with ribbon like so...
Try making a Tag Card of your own...they are really fun and super simple! To see more My Pink Stamper products...please visit www.mypinkstamper.com.
Be Inspired,
Miss Tracy :)
