Happy Birthday Maddi !!

The baby of the family is now 11 years old! I can't believe how fast she is growing up! Maddi invited some of her best buds over for a slumber party and Kristyn and I took all the girls ice skating. They all had such a great time! A couple of days later we celebrated with family and Maddi was kidnapped by surprise last night (by her Aunt Lisa) and taken to see High School Musical at the Bass Hall. She was so excited and loved every minute of it! I am so proud of the young lady she is becoming. She is so beautiful inside and out! Happy Birthday Maddi...never'll always be my baby!

Be Inspired Wednesdays - Challenge #21

Happy Wednesday Everyone! It's time once once again for my Be Inspired segment for the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog. Today’s challenge was to incorporate water colors into a card created with the help of our good friend, Mr. Cuttlebug!

My name is Tracy Pounds and I am one of the Sr. Design Team Members for this fabulous blog! Here is the card that I have created. I would like to share with you some simple techniques that I used to create a lovely water color background and a stamped/debossed image using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

Tracy’s How To:

1. Cut a piece of white cardstock (one with no texture will work best). Take a few watercolor pencils and begin shading different spaces on the cardstock.

2. Next, grab your H2O pen and apply it to your shading in a swirly motion. This will create a more blended and muted look. You want the colors to float into each other. Set it aside to dry. If you are in a hurry (as I always am), just zap it with your heat gun. 3. Once completely dry, choose an ink pad (I used Black) and a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. Open the folder and lightly rub over the bottom of the folder with your ink pad. Then, quickly place your water color cardstock into the folder, close and run through the Cuttlebug. This will create a beautiful stamped and debossed image on your paper.
4. To create a sparkly effect, I then applied Stickles (Diamond) inside the flowers and very lightly along the stems. Don’t over do…it’s meant to be a subtle sparkle effect. Set aside to dry.
Now you’re ready to add this fabulous piece to your handmade card, embellish further with ribbon, and a stamped sentiment, and you have a one-of-a-kind creation! Please feel free to leave comments or questions and I will be happy to reply!

Be sure to check out the other water color creations designed by the our fabulous group of Design Team members at and I challenge you to create your own water color project and post it to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog for the chance to win prizes and recognition!

Happy Creating,

Tracy :)
