Calling all Scrapstasher's!!

Hello fellow Stasher's--

As most of you know...I broke the sacred code last month and told you what we will be doing for this month's Scrapstasher's Meetings. But for those of you who don't know, we will be having a
ScrapStasher Page Swap!
We will be creating 4 double lo's!
That's right, 8 pages my friend!

Here is how it will work. When you come to the meeting, I will have 4 groups of tables set up. Each group will work on 1 specific double lo (designed by me). Now in order for this swap to be successful and stress-free, it is extremely important that you bring your papers already cut in the dimensions that are provided for you below. You will assemble your pages and I will collect them. When everyone is finished, you will receive a lo from each group and walk away with 4 unique double lo's. Woo Hoo!

Here is your "What to Bring" list:

This is what you will need for 1 lo...please bring 4 sets (because we will be making 4 lo's). Put each set in a bag or paper clip them together so that you don't get them mixed up.

two sheets of 12x12 cardstock (base pages)
two 3x12 pieces of printed paper A
two 6x6 pieces of printed paper B
one 4x12 piece of printed paper C
two 5x7 pieces of cardstock A
one 4x12 pieces of cardstock B
2 coordinating cat eyes or ink pads

Additional items:
trimmer (each group will make some additional cuts to the papers depending on that specific lo)
adhesive, adhesive, will need lots!
pop dots

If you have any questions, please let me know. Our Scrapstasher Page Swap is sure to be an AwEsoMe event and a great way to kick off the New Year! If you have not reserved your seat, then please contact the store immediatelyat (817) 282-2622. Also, for those of you who have reserved your seat, please let us know if you will not be able to attend so that we can provide your seat to someone else.

I look forward to creating with you next week!
Tracy :)

Baby it's Cold outside!!!

What an amazing Christmas Miracle...a White Christmas!! I've lived here all of my life and never has something like this taken place! The kids had so much fun playing in the snow even though they could only stand to stay out for small amounts of time before coming in to thaw out by the fire...throw socks and jeans in the dryer...and then back out again they went! Kaden was so cute! He wasn't too sure about this mysterious white stuff and didn't take long to be "over" the photo shoot. Hope you had fun in the snow too! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

You've been Boo'd!

Have you been boo'd?? This was the project that I created for our October Scrapstasher's meetings. I designed this treat container (an altered Crystal Light container) to fill with treats. It also contains a "You've been Boo'd" poem and instructions on how to keep the Boo'd chain going along with a few more Boo tags (like the one hangin on the lid). To see the poem, please visit the Anthologies Blog. I also posted some pic's of several of the containers made by the Stasher's at our meeting.

Here is how it works...first, you fill your container with sweets or, you anonymously give it to a friend, co-worker, neighbor, etc. They will then put their boo tag up somewhere (as the poem instructs) for on their front door, on their desk at work, on their scrap bag, etc. That way everyone know that they have been Boo'd. They will remove the treats to keep for themselves and enjoy and then within 2 days they supposed to refill the treat container for someone else and place one of the boo tags on the lid....and give it to the next Boo'd victim...and so on and so on and so on. The fun is watching to see how many of your circle of friends, co-workers, or neighbors get Boo'd by Halloween!

Thanks to all the Stasher's that participated in our October meetings at Anthologies. If you would like to know more about Scrapstasher's or would like to join me us at November's meetings, please visit the Anthologies website or contact the store at (817) 282-2622.

Happy Haunting,
Tracy :)

the littlest Cowboy fan...

I couldn't resist...just had to post these pictures of Kaden in his Cowboys jersey! My son-in-law is a huge Eagles fan so he will be thrilled that I posted these...ha!! We actually keep this little jersey at our house and we put it on Kaden when his Daddy isn't around. Pop is trying very hard to place a Cowboy influence on Kaden at a young age...we'll see if it sticks.

Z's, Q's, V's...oh my!

Do you have lots of random letters left over in your stash of supplies?? If you answered yes, then you will love this project! I designed this project for last month's Scrapstasher's meeting. It is the perfect solution to help you use all those left over chipboard alpha's...especially the ones that you seldom use like Z's, Q's, X's, etc. Altered Alpha Frame
Designed By: Tracy Pounds

This is such a simple project to create and when finished, it really looks like the letters are actually carved out of the frame itself. Follow these simple steps and you can re-create an Altered Alpha Frame of your own.

Tracy's How To:
1. I first painted a raw wood frame and set it aside to dry.

2. Next, begin randomly placing your chipboard letters on the frame. When you have them all in the desired positions, adhere them to the frame using a liquid adhesive.

3. Now, reapply the same paint color over the entire frame. Be sure to get all of the edges of your letters. This creates a great visual effect becuase it makes the frame and letters look as if they are one piece.

4. When completely dry, lightly rub over the letters with a distress ink pad in a swift streaking motion. Do this quickly in a vertical direction and then in a horizontal direction. This creates fabulous dimension and will add a touch of color to your Altered Alpha Frame.

5. Lastly, I sealed my frame with a quick spray of Polyurethane (semi-gloss) to give it a nice professional, protective finish.

I hope you will be inspired to put those left over letters of yours to good use and will create a frame for yourself! If you have any questions or comments, please post them and I will be happy to reply back to you.

Happy Creating,
Tracy :)

Gotta love that Mountain Air...

My Grandparents built this cabin when I was 2 years old. It remains in our family and I am SO thankful for that! I have so many wonderful memories of this place. First, as a, as a Mom watching my kids make memories of their own...and now, as Lolli (aka Grandmother) sharing all of this with my sweet grandboy. Who, by the way, started walking here while we were on our vacation. What a great milestone.for him..and it happened here in Red River...this will be such a sweet memory for all of us to treasure!
We did lots of hiking, fishing, shopping, jeep riding, and more bear watching than ever before. They were coming out even in broad daylight. One of the locals in town told us that there had been a really late freeze this past May in the high country that had affected the berry population and it has now driven all the bears down to lower elevations..yikes!
These pictures were taken right out the back door of the cabin. Notice the little red thing on the right side of the pic...that is a little cowbell tied to some wire which is attached to that old metal pot and a nearby tree. Our very own home-made Bear alarm...ha!

Our cabin is located several miles upper canyon from the little town of Red River...just an old rotary phone in the cell phone TV...just good ole fashioned family time! It was awesome and the best part about it for me was that we were ALL there together...ALL 9 and 1/2 of us!

All Star Altered Frame...

Hello Everyone! I wanted to share some inspiration with you today! This is a frame that I created featuring Core'dinations Black Magic Cardstock. It was featured today on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog and I am featuring a full tutorial here on my blog for you. I hope it inspires you to create with this fabulous product by Core'dinations.

All Star Altered Frame
Designed by: Tracy Pounds
What is Black Magic?? Black magic is one of several specialty collections in the Core'diantions ColorCore Cardstock line. It has a black surface on one side and with a little sanding, tearing, or antiquing, you can uncover the vivid core colors hidden beneath the texture. This is an amazing product and it works fabulously with the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders by Provocraft!

Here is a quick look at what you will need to create this altered frame project with Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock:
First, you will need to cut your Black Magic cardstock into desirted sizes to fit your wooden frame. Then, place each piece into a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (I used the new Stars Folder) and run thru the Cuttlebug. This cardstock embosses beautifully! Now, sand lightly over the embossed design with a lightwweight sanding block or a piece of sandpaper to expose the ColorCore that is hidden beneath the Black texture.

Look at how vivid the ColorCore is! I just love it...take a look at some of the colors in the Black Magic Collection...

Next, I painted my wooden frame black and then adhered all of my embossed squares using tacky tape. Then, I applied a light coat of Diamond Glaze over the surface of my frame to give it a cool semi-gloss effect.
Now, to create the background paper for my frame, I simply took a sheet of Black Magic Cardstock and crumpled it up in my hand.
Then, I smoothed it back out and sanded over all of the wrinkles and crinkles to create a great distressed look. I adhered this to my frame insert.
To complete my All Star Altered Frame, I added some great baseball pictures of my son, Hayden and embellished with a few metal buttons. I'm really happy with the way it turned out! I hope you will be inspired to create with this amazing cardstock from Core'dinations!
Remember to stay true to your passion--Keep Creating!

CHA Day #3...

Another fabulous, crazy day...started about 5:30am and ran from booth to booth placing final orders. Rushed back to the hotel to meet shuttle that took us to the airport. Then proceeded to carry the 2 heaviest bags in the world and my carry on (quite a comical sight) to the baggage check in. Once thru security, stopped to grab a bite and then off to the gate. Happy to see that flight was on in and seated only to find out that our plane was 16th in line for take off...urgh!! Arrived safe and sound at DFW and was met by my DH, Hayden & Maddie. Felt so good to be home...felt even better when I arrived at home only to be surprised by my two oldest daughters (Rachel & Kristyn) with a yummy cake that was decorated with little dragonflies on it. They had carefully written these words on the side of the cake...It's a Beautiful Day at Home! How great it felt to actually be missed...ha! They were all so sweet and just made me feel like the luckiest Mom & Wife ever! I love my family SO much!

Joyfully Yours,
Tracy :)
P.S. Three videos are now loaded on the Anthologies Blog...with more to come! Happy dragonfly counting gals! I will post some of my favorite finds later this weekend...night night!

Be Inspired Wednesday - Challenge #41

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
My challenge this week on the CCB was to create to create something using the NEW Victorian Flourish Folder by Cuttlebug(Provocraft). This folder has a beautiful, elegant look to it! My project is an altered tin by Maya Road. I embellished my tin with some Brrr Blue art metal (Ten Seconds Studio) and some of the Invisibles polka dot paper (Heidi Swapp). I used some distress inks on my paper to create the two-tone color. Added some pretty coordinating ribbons and a cute tag and now I have a great gift tin. These little tins are great for lots of uses! They would be great for gifts, treats, recipe cards, photos, and so much more! This will also be one of the projects that you will create if you sign up for Create Joy's Invisibles Workshop coming up on Aug. 6th. You will enjoy creating a few other projects as altered composition book and a variety of cards. Hope you will consider joining us!

Have a creative day!
Tracy :)

I was so excited to see the new product releases by Bo Bunny! Of course their paper collections and embellishments are amazing--but--what I was really tickled about was that they will now be selling there clam shell packaging! They are calling them - Clear Party Favors- If you are a Stasher, you will remember us making cute little treats out of our recycled packaging. Now you will be able to purchase them and decorate them any way you want. They retail for less than a $1 and will make such cute party favors, halloween treats, stocking stuffers, etc. The possibilities are endless!
